Organic Coconut Flour 650gms
Organic Coconut Flour is a delicious gluten free, low glycemic alternative flour to wheat and other grain flours. Ground from dried, partly defatted organic coconut meat, coconut flour is high in fiber, high in protein and low in digestible carbohydrates.
A single 2 Tbsp serving of coconut flour delivers 5 grams of fiber, 2 grams of protein and 8 grams of low glycemic carbs. This makes it ideal for those following Gluten Free, Low Carb, Ketogenic or Paleo diets and for all who wish to reduce their weight and improve digestive health.
Our Coconut Flour is made from fresh organic pared coconuts. The process begins with the removal of the oil in the cold-pressed manufacture of Virgin Coconut Oil producing partly defatted coconut flakes / cake. The coconut cakes are then dried and ground finely to produce our Coconut Flour. The resulting flour has between 16 to 20% protein, maximum 12% fat and between 40 to 50% dietary fiber.
The light coconut flavor allows coconut flour to blend seamlessly into sweet or savory baked goods. It makes a wonderful coating for chicken, fish or other proteins in place of regular flour or cornmeal. Because of its high fiber content, baking with coconut flour is a unique experience. Only one third of the amount of coconut flour is required, compared to wheat flour and most recipes will require slightly more liquid when cooking for best results. We recommend following a recipe designed for coconut flour when getting started. Many of these recipes for breads, cakes and cookies will use additional eggs to improve the binding properties. Coconut Flour is excellent also when used in conjunction with other gluten free flours, such as from almonds, tapioca, sweet potato and so on.

How to make Coconut Flour Flaxseed Porridge, the perfect high energy & high fibre start to your day?
Simply add 1 and a half heaped tablespoons of coconut flour (per person) along with 1 tablespoon of freshly ground flaxseed (use the spice grinder attachment of your blender). Add a dash of salt and cinnamon. Add 2 cups of water (coconut flour absorbs a lot of water) and then add 1 cup of coconut milk and bring to a gentle boil. This may be sweetened to taste with coconut sugar or honey or for a no calorie sweetener try Erythritol. If the porridge is too thick then add additional coconut milk once served in a bowl.
