Selasih (Ocimum sanctum or Holy Basil), is considered an important first aid herb for this purpose. In Asia it is used as the first line of defense for coughs and colds. It has been shown to have a positive effect on raising immunity, especially in regards to respiratory infections. Research has also revealed the plants tonic effect on the nervous system, relieving stress and promoting energy levels. It is combined with Phyllanthus niruri for its antiviral properties.
Recommended Uses: For lower respiratory infections in young and old, to reduce fevers, coughs and phlegm, improve resistance to infection and strengthen the nervous system.
